Personal Vault 1.8.0 brings AI Mode with on-device models so you can understand your collections without sending data to the cloud.
🤖 What's new
- AI Collection Summary — Select a batch of items and get readable insights from names, prices, notes, and more
- Photo Auto-Fill — Snap a photo when adding an item; local AI fills fields for you
- Custom summary prompts — Steer analysis toward investment value, collecting stories, categories, or your own angle
- Think Mode — The model reasons internally before delivering the final summary
- Full control — Toggle AI, choose from imported local models, and adjust output length
📦 Model setup (current)
On-device AI requires a supported model file. For now:
- Download compatible models such as Gemma 4 and other supported models from Hugging Face
- Import the model into Personal Vault before use
- Coming soon: in-app model browsing, selection, and download
🔐 Privacy-first AI
Unlike many apps that send your data to cloud APIs, Personal Vault runs AI entirely on your device:
- Your collection content is not uploaded for AI analysis
- Works offline once the model is loaded
- No dependency on subscription cloud AI quotas
- Aligns with Personal Vault's encryption, app lock, and local-first design
